What do the children do during a nursery session?

The time spent in the nursery your child will have access to a wide range of experiences and activities both indoors and out. They will engage in a variety of play activities some of which are child initiated and some of which will be adult focused.

All activities and experiences are carefully planned by staff following the children’s interests and stages of development. Outdoor play plays an equal role in all the learning opportunities planned by staff. Your child will participate in a daily snack time and small group activities such as story time and singing.

Do look out for half-termly letters giving up to date information about the Nursery and the Themes we will be following. This will also inform you of upcoming events, dates for your diary and make any requests for resources.

Please click on the link below for further detail about the breadth of our curriculum:

Suitable clothing

Because of all the many activities on offer in the nursery it can be a messy place. Please ensure that your child does not wear clothes that can be spoilt by paint, glue or mud among other things!! As your child will spend time outdoors please ensure that you protect them from the weather by providing coat/boots/sunhats as appropriate.

If your child needs to be changed for any reason, please wash and return the nursery’s clothes as soon as possible.

Ribbit and Frogsy

Our Class animals, Ribbit and Frogsy continue to enjoy sleepovers with the children and staff. Your contributions to the digital diaries are most welcome.

"Wow” notice boards - Spring Term onwards

These are for you to contribute completed "wow" slips with details of your child’s achievements or news from home. This could be anything from a special outing to a new baby in the family or riding a bike for the first time or even a cake or picture your child has made. Your child will share this news with the rest of the Nursery and receive a "wow" sticker.

Themes for the Year
